Sometimes a registration includes multiple participants, but only one person needs to be removed. For example, a parent may register two children for camp, but one child can no longer attend.
In this situation, you should remove the individual participant instead of cancelling the entire registration.
Go to:
Events > View Events
Use the registration editing tools which appear next to each participant to to remove the participant who is no longer attending.
When removing a participant, depending on the registration & refund policy, you may see refund options such as:
This option attempts to calculate the refund based on the difference after removing that participant.
Before continuing, carefully review the refund amount. If the amount is incorrect, then select Issue Partial Refund.
For more complex registrations, the suggested refund amount may not always perfectly match the exact value of that individual participant, especially if participants selected different options, add-ons, discounts, or pricing choices.
This option uses the refund policy selected for the event.
For example, if the event’s refund policy says payments are non-refundable, this option may show a refund amount of $0.00.
Always review the refund amount before cancelling the registration.
Use this option if you need to enter a custom refund amount.
This is helpful when the automatic difference does not match the refund your church wants to issue.
When issuing a partial refund, add an internal note explaining why that amount was chosen.
Use this option if the participant should be removed but no online refund should be issued.
This may apply if the payment was already refunded another way, if the registration is non-refundable, or if your church has made a different arrangement with the registrant.
If the participant is registered for multiple events or multiple parts of an event, you may see an option to remove the participant from all events in the registration.
Only select this option if that participant should be removed from every related event in that registration.
The rest of the registration remains active.
Other participants on the registration are not cancelled or removed.
If the registration has an active payment plan, the payment plan is automatically adjusted after the participant is removed.
