Displaying Custom Fields in Kiosk Service Counter
If you are using the Kiosk Service Counter during any of your check-in procedures, you may find this short guide helpful! Sometimes, it is helpful to save additional information to someone's profile using custom fields and have that information automatically displayed whenever viewing the person in the service counter.
For example, if you have a policy that allows some older children to leave without a parent being present after they've been checked-in, you could create a Yes/No custom field for that purpose, to save the parents' preference to that child's profile.

By enabling the custom field to be displayed in the service counter, you'll clearly see that attribute about that child whenever pulling up their name in the Kiosk Service Counter.
It's easy to set up:
- As an admin user, go to the People menu. Choose People Settings. Click Custom Fields.
- Add a new Custom Field or Edit an Existing One.
- Under Options, check the checkbox for Display in Kiosk Service Counter.
- Once finished, save that custom field.

The information for anyone's profile saved to that custom field will now be visible when pulling up that person in the Kiosk Service Counter.
Tips and Suggestions
Here are few tips and suggestions for using this in the best way possible:
- Limit the number of custom fields visible in the Service Counter. More than 4 to 6 fields may become a bit overwhelming for staff or volunteers to sift through when pulling up a person in the Service Counter and hoping to quickly find the information they need.
- If no information is saved for a specific custom field for a person, then that custom field will not be displayed in the service counter when viewing that person.
- In situations where the custom field pertains to a security measure (such as allowing a child to leave without parents being present), it's important to establish a protocol and default guideline that volunteers and staff should abide by when that custom field's information is not saved. For example, in this scenario, if the data is not saved, then the child is not allowed to leave without a parent being present.
