In Connection Card Pro, admin users as well as non-admin personal hub users have the ability to upload profile images. Admin users (with the required permissions) can upload profile images for any individuals that they have access to. Non-admin users are able to upload profile images only for themselves.
As an admin user, uploading a profile image can be done from the person's profile. To do so, edit their profile, and then click on the existing (or generic) profile image. You'll be prompted to select an image from your device. You must save the person's profile for the new image to be saved.
Any user can update their own profile image in the personal hub or from the mobile app. From the personal hub, click on the current profile image on the top right corner of the screen to go to your profile information page. From there, click on the larger profile image next to your name. Select an image from your device. Once selected, the image will automatically upload and will be automatically saved.
Note - Images uploaded by admin users are treated differently than images uploaded by non-admin users.
Admin Uploaded Images
Any images uploaded by an admin user will be visible to admin users in the admin pages, in the personal hub, and in the mobile app. However, these images will not be visible to non-admin users. This is because we recognize that some people may upload a profile image that does not clearly show their face, while admin users are likely uploading images that help them recognize the individuals in your community. However, for non-admin users, we are honoring the privacy of individuals by only displaying to other members and non-admin users the photos that they uploaded themselves.
Images uploaded by Non-Admin users
Images uploaded by non-admin users are the only images visible to other non-admin users when using the personal hub or the mobile app. When a non-admin user uploads a new profile image in the personal hub, it'll immediately update their profile image which is visible to other non-admin users. However, it will not modify the default profile image which is visible to admin users (in admin pages, personal hub or mobile app).
Exception for Admin Users
The exception to the above is that images uploaded by admin users for other admin users (including their own profile) will be visible to non-admin users in the personal hub and mobile app. This is because the images uploaded for your admin users may be professional or branded images, helping your organization to maintain consistency for the leaders and staff images as they are displayed to non-admin users. This is also because it would get confusing for admin users to be required to upload their own profile image in both the admin pages as well as the personal hub.
Non-admin users will see profile images displayed in the following places:
To view or remove user-uploaded profile images (images a non-admin user uploaded from the personal hub), login as an admin user, go to the person's profile (in the admin pages), and go to the images tab. You will be able to view all images which this user has uploaded. You can remove any images by hovering over the image and clicking on the remove button.
To change the default admin image - that is the image which is visible to admin users - login as an admin user, go to the person's profile (in the admin pages), and go to the images tab. Then, hover over the image you'd like to set as the default, and click on the set as default button. This will only update the image for admin users and will not change which image is visible to non-admin users (as that is controlled by the individual).
If a user has uploaded an inappropriate image as their profile image, an admin user will need to remove the image by following the instructions above. Please remove the image, simply changing the default admin image will not change the image visible to non-admin users, meaning that non-admin users will still be able to view the inappropriate image. Additionally, if this happens, please take extra steps, per your organization's policies, to speak with the individual involved, limit their access to the personal hub, and, when necessary, involving the proper authorities.
Please note that Connection Card Pro does not moderate (or even view) these images. It is your organization's responsibility to flag and remove inappropriate images.
