In Connection Card Pro you can create an unlimited number of giving designations and unique giving links to track your donations and automatically assign donors to lists.
Donor designations allow your donors to choose from any number of designations when making a donation. These designations will show from the dropdown menu when they are giving online. Examples for designations: Tithe, Missions, Youth Camp, Love Offering, etc.
When creating your specific designations, a separate/unique giving link can be quickly created from this new designation if you would like one, allowing donations received through this link to automatically be applied to the selected designation.
Any designations or unique giving links that you create here can double as both a unique giving link, which is automatically assigned to the settings that you have chosen for that link, as well as being available as a designation option that a donor can select if you have enabled the ability for donors to select which designation their donation should go towards.
To Create a New Designation
From the menu: Accounting > Financial Settings > Designations & Unique Links
Click on “Create New Designation”
Type in a Title for your Designation, such as “Tithe” or “Missions”. This is what Donors will see.
Check to Include as a selectable option if you would like the donor to see this designation option when giving online.
Select your Register, Fund, Income and Expense Accounts.
Note: The Expense account for online donations and payments is only used for automatically recording the payment processing fees. In most cases you will probably want to use the same expense account for all of your giving links, such as one for Bank Fees or a Processing Fees expense account, whereas you might use different income accounts for each link.
Select if you would like to link this Designation to a Department, Fundraiser, Project, or Purpose.
Select to add a tag if desired to show where donation should go if going to the same account as others. (Create your tags in Accounting > Financial Settings > Tags)
Click Save to save this new Giving Designation.
Scroll down to the Unique Giving Links to easily create a link for this Designation.
To Create a Unique Giving Link/Widget
From the menu: Accounting > Financial Settings > Designations & Unique Links
Click on “Create New Link”.
Name this giving link – this name is only used internally to identify giving links.
Designation: Choose from the drop-down menu if you want to create this link for one of the designations you have created above.
Check the options or use dropdown menus to complete the options that you would like to allow for this link/widget. Hover your mouse over the “?” to see additional information on each item.
You can also choose to apply any tags, either to the income, transaction or the expense transaction associated with any donations given through your unique giving link.
Check option if desired to give this unique link a landing page. 1920 x 1080 px graphic size recommended. If using a different graphic size, it must be a minimum of 400 px for the width. We recommend not including text at the top, bottom or side edges as your image can be cropped depending on the users Screen size.
Click Save to save this new link.

Where to Find Your Designation Link
From the menu: Accounting > Financial Settings > Designations & Unique Links
Scroll down to the Unique Giving Links and click the “Links” button for that Designation.
This link can be copied and pasted to an email, website, etc. Or use the Widget to embed into your website.
To Edit a Designated Giving Link
From the menu: Accounting > Financial Settings > Designations & Unique Links
Scroll down to the Unique Giving Links and click “Edit”.
Make your changes and click Save to save your changes.
